On Thursday, February 20, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management visited the Pilot Plant of OBBOTEC SPEX. During a tour, they were introduced to our SPEX technology, with which we recycle plastic directly into virgin-like plastic via dissolution. This leads to less CO₂ emissions, less waste and a more efficient use of raw materials.
In addition to discovering our technology, the ministry stopped by to learn from our experiences with the journey from lab phase to pilot and eventual commercial application. We shared lessons learned along the way and the challenges involved in this scale-up.
The ministry is committed to a cleaner world, where materials are maximally reused. We are proud that we were able to engage with them about how SPEX contributes to this and how our insights can help future innovations.
