Hennie Zirkzee is a driven chemical engineer with a strong passion for making an impact and contributing to a better world. As an expert in Technology & Operations, Hennie has extensive experience in the plastics and polymer industry, as well as in developing and building plants. He has earned his stripes at major companies such as GE, Dow, and Eastman Chemicals.

His career began in the plastics industry, where he developed as a chemical technologist. During his time at Paramelt, Hennie worked on an innovative project in collaboration with Dow Chemicals, resulting in the development of Blue Wave technology for making dispersions with extruders. Despite his success in this sector, Hennie became increasingly convinced of the need to reduce the environmental impact of plastics. This realization led him to his current role at OBBOTEC SPEX, where he is committed to making plastics circular.

With his background in chemistry and technology, Hennie has worked at large corporations, where he gained valuable experience in developing and implementing technological solutions. At OBBOTEC SPEX, he has played a crucial role in the development and operationalization of the pilot plant, an important step in the process of sustainable plastic recycling.

Hennie is currently working on the design and development of the commercial plant, a project he approaches with confidence. His previous experience in successfully developing multiple commercial plants gives him the expertise and vision to make this project a success.
